his ‘C’ was not used daily as many
cars are not these days they can take
a while to start, particularly in cold
weather. This is something that I
have noticed and I couldn’t make up
my mind whether it took a while for
the fuel to make its way from the rear
of the car to the front or whether it
took the electricity time to make its
way from the batteries at the back of
the car to come to the front. Maybe
it’s both?
in SA you could slowly fill out you registration log book. I’m sure it’s not
dependent on you actually leaving
your car. Then restart the car and it
will start almost straight away and the
choke can be reduced quickly the
second time.
Bruce says “I forgot all about this until
a friend reminded me that I told him of
this method years ago and it works
with both of his ‘C’s’ every time.”
And yes it works for me too.
His simple method applies to the standard factory cars and to the triple SU
conversions and saves the starter &
battery.
Give the car full choke and turn the
big six cylinder over 5 or 6 times with
a light throttle and then switch off.
Remember ladies and gentlemen
keep ‘em tuned,
