Breakfast Run to Rapid Bay 2nd October 2016
his month ' s run was to somewhere we had not been to before, at least not in the past 6 years, and it was to Rapid Bay on the Fleurieu Peninsula. If you haven ' t been to either Rapid Bay or Second Valley recently it is well worth the drive.
Despite it being a long weekend we still achieved a good turn out of the faithful, including two first timers, namely John and Rosie Miles in their excellent 1955 Magnette, and Ken and Heather Burke in their BRG MGB that Ken is in the process of doing up.
It was also the start of " daylight saving " which caught at least one couple out, as the " Tardy Turners " needed a phone call to remind them where they were meant to be at 9am on Sunday morning!
We then had a very clear run all the way to Rapid Bay, picking up MGs along the way and, as we were setting up, in came a quad of " T " types. First in was David McNabb and Kerry Hugo, followed shortly after by Don Walker, Jeanette Walsingham-Meath and Peter Shipside all of whom had driven over from Goolwa in convoy. A great sight.
Peter has in fact joined us on previous outings in his TF or MGWA.
It has to be said that we were indeed very lucky with the weather given the State ' s disaster in the week and given the final deluge that came on the

Sunday night, so someone is smiling on MGs.
