MFW June 2013 | Page 2

The dates are set as the 30th December until the 4th of January 2014 and the venue is Clareville , so that ’ s familiar territory , but we are making some major changes to appeal to the masses of sport flyers out there . The Rally is being extended to run for four days and will include display flying by the National Champions in many of the disciplines as well as informal competitions for sports flyers . Options being considered at the moment include Assassin Combat and FPV pylon racing . There is plenty of scope to add events so we will asking for feedback throughout the coming months .
The A & P showgrounds at Clareville provide an ideal base for camper vans and tents and there is plenty of accommodation in the surrounding areas for those who like a solid roof over their heads .
We hope to see ever greater numbers of competition flyers and will also be providing opportunities for them to relax in the evenings with casual events such as Tomboy flying and of course the chance to use the hall . The Prizegiving will be shortened from previous years by concentrating on the winners of the large entry events . We intend to make full use of the Hall at Clareville for indoor flying and will be catering for micro helicopters , lightweight floaters like the Vapour series and would like to see sufficient interest in F3P and Aeromusical flying to run a competition .
The final day of the Rally on Sat 4th will begin with a Swapmeet so that you can exchange your unwanted model aircraft gear for cash and spend it on other things that you always wanted .
So , competition flyers and sports flyers , put the dates in your diary now and start making plans to join us in Clareville . Come for the barbeque and pilots briefing on the 30th and stay until the supper on the 4th . Bring plenty of models !
