Glam All The Way
This love story started in a sweaty basketball gym , but culminated in a cloud of sequins and sparkles at the Lake of the Ozarks . Kyley was coaching her basketball team at practice one day when in walked Seth , who was working one-on-one individual skill coaching . There was some confusion as to who had reserved the court at what time , so these two coaches had to figure it out . Kyley says , “ The rest of practice , I was so distracted and kept glancing his way because I thought he was really cute .” They exchanged numbers and the romance began . Fast forward four and a half years and Kyley and Seth were enjoying a weekend at the lake with friends and family . The plans were to spend the day together on the boat , but Seth told Kyley he and his buddy were going to go play golf . Annoyed he was not going to be with everyone , she let it slide . Little did she know , Seth was setting up a special proposal for that evening and buying a ring . While all together out on the water for dinner , the family stopped by a restaurant that also had live music on stage . Seth slipped away , got up on stage , and proposed to Kyley in front of everyone , taking her completely by surprise !
Since they were going to get married during the pandemic , they wanted to find a place without many restrictions . Old Kinderhook Golf Course has a beautiful lodge overlooking the picturesque greens and a gorgeous , enormous fireplace . Kyley and Seth could see this was the perfect place to tie the knot and have their ceremony . Next , they decided to have the reception at The Exchange in Camdenton . “ Chelsea , the owner , was flexible , easy to work with and made us feel important ,” Kyley remembers .
Now that they had secured a place , it was time for Kyley to find her dress . She went with her mother and grandmothers to the Breeze Boutique Bridal Salon . She knew she wanted something form-fitting with spaghetti straps . Kyley says , “ I am not a simple girl , I like sparkles and sequins ! Glam all the way !” After trying on a couple of dresses , she kept going back to one dress in particular . Walking down the “ aisle ” that was set up in the bridal salon , she knew this was the dress . Seth , on the other hand , wore simple black pants with a white tuxedo jacket . Kyley ’ s bridesmaids , in true Kyley fashion , brought the pop of color and wore hot pink dresses , which coordinated with the rest of the pink and sparkly decor .
Kyley had seen photographer Alan Wohlgemut with Lighter Focus ’ s work in a Metropolitan Weddings magazine . She loved his style , but more importantly she wanted to find someone who would make her fiance feel comfortable and relaxed . Both Alan and Seth have laid-back personalities and Alan was able to give helpful and simple pointers so that they could capture the perfect photo without having to look forced or fake . The couple also used Byler Media videography . “ He was so slick ,” Kyley says , “ we did not even realize we were mic ’ d up . He did not feel intrusive at all , and we love watching the videos he captured of our guests sharing stories about us .” Alan and the videographer from Byler worked great together as a team .
Kyley ’ s brother performed the ceremony and did a fabulous job . She says it was such a tender moment for her protective , older brother to marry them and to hear him speak of Seth and his love for Kyley . But one of her favorite memories was just before she and her dad began their walk down the aisle . The room got quiet , the doors were closed , it was just the two of them , and they both were overcome with joy and tears .
After the ceremony , Kyley and Seth were whisked off on a horse and carriage ride that looked like it was straight out of Cinderella ' s fairytale . Kyley and Seth were so grateful for this time that they could share , just the two of them , newly married , enjoying being alone together as they went on a ride around the golf course before arriving at The Exchange for the reception .
To help put together this glamorous reception , Kyley and Seth found Susan at Party Proper . They shared their vision and she made it come to life . She used lots of glass , mirrors , sparkles , sequins and hot pink flowers . But the couple ’ s favorite pieces were the chandelier over the dance floor and the bridal party table . Party Proper created a gold sequined draped table adorned in hot pink touches , shiny glassware , and pink flowers in front of a backdrop of crystal beading which was lit from behind . It was exactly what Kyley had envisioned and more !
They served delicious raspberry chipotle pork , smothered chicken , potatoes and vegetables along with a lovely cake from Hy-Vee . After dinner , they kicked the party off with an open bar and a friend who served as their DJ . The party lasted late into the night . Kyley and Seth were the last people to leave the dance floor , married and sparkling from wedded bliss . Xxoxo
