wonderful tonight

Growing up in the same hometown in Overland Park , Kansas , Jamie Koziol and Travis Holbert never knew each other , even though they went to the same high school . Mutual friends introduced them and love began to bloom ! They dated for a year and in December of 2020 , Travis suggested they get dressed up and go out to eat , using a gift card he had received . Then , to Jamie ’ s surprise , a limo picked them up and took them to a beautiful restaurant . When Travis asked if she would like to take a picture , she knew something was up because he hates getting his picture taken . Travis had coordinated with the restaurant staff to capture the moment when he proposed and of course she said " yes !"
Jamie and Travis knew they wanted to get married at Table Rock Lake . They always enjoyed spending time at the lake and loved the Sycamore Creek Family Ranch . This venue was exactly what they were looking for and was so helpful and easy to work with . Sycamore Creek shared with the couple their list of trusted vendors , which put Jamie ’ s mind at ease . “ I know these guys have done lots of weddings before , so I just did not sweat the small stuff and let them do their thing .”
Jamie really did not want to spend a lot of time or money to find her gown , but with her mom , aunt and cousin , she went shopping at a bridal salon in Kansas . She had an idea of what she wanted , but when she tried on the dress that she finally chose – her mother immediately burst into tears ! Jamie knew right then it was the perfect gown for her . Travis found his suit at Men ’ s Wearhouse and they were able to pick out a tie that would match their overall color scheme .
Using burgundies , gold , champagne and neutral colors – they decorated the venue with lots of candles , greenery and flowers creating a magical atmosphere . Jamie and Travis hired wedding coordinator , Misty Willinger . At first , Jamie did not understand the value of having a wedding coordinator , but afterwards she said she was so grateful she utilized her services . “ I could not have planned the wedding without Misty and because of her , I could relax and enjoy everything !”
Simply Delicious Catering served black and blue sliders and a jalapeno popper dip during the cocktail hour , then a Tuscan breaded chicken and bacon wrapped pork for dinner that was truly " simply delicious ."
The cake from Sugar Leaf Bakery was simple with two flavors , but very light and tasty . Of course , Jamie and Travis had the ceremonial first bite , but then she did not get to eat any more cake that night . The next morning when one of her bridesmaids told her , “ I have the rest of your wedding cake in my room ,” Jamie was so excited and enjoyed the cake again !
Having a wedding following the pandemic , it was really important to the couple to have a fun , festive atmosphere . Jamie and Travis both loved going to concerts before covid and were determined to have a live band perform at their wedding . The couple started the party off by dancing their first dance to Eric Clapton ’ s , “ Wonderful Tonight .” Afterwards , all of their guests partied and danced the night away . Since many people knew each other from high school and college , it was almost like a mini-reunion .
One of the highlights of the evening were the heartfelt toasts made by family and friends . Each toast was hilarious and gave a glimpse into Jamie and Travis ’ personalities . After the reception , the party continued . Jamie and Travis had rented a large room at the Branson Paddlewheel and the wedding party continued to celebrate long into the evening . When it was all over , Jamie said , “ I would not change a thing ! It was perfect ! We all had so much fun , I did not want the night to end .” Yes , Jamie and Travis , it was “ wonderful tonight .” XmW
