TEAM GENR8
Doing business to do good
Abduallah Al-Mansoob’s Hult Prize team—
Genr8—made it to the Regional Finals in 2018.
Genr8 is now a multi-award-winning,
sustainable business changing lives around
the world.
What is Genr8?
The Hult Prize challenge in 2018 was to
“harness the power of energy” and change the
lives of 10 million people by 2025. Genr8 is a
peer-to-peer clean energy exchange promoting
energy neutrality in deregulated electricity
markets around the world.
How did Hult support you?
We had support every step of the way. Hult Prize
has the Hult DNA embedded within and nobody
knows more about it than the people at Hult.
We understood the mindset and we were
prepared both practically and emotionally.
How did it impact your business?
As well as all the practical experience with
pitching, it gave us a lot of visibility and
credibility. It drew in a lot of interest from VCs.
How did Hult Prize change you?
It’s a very humbling experience that is not so much
a competition but more a gathering of passionate
people, with great ideas, working toward
a common goal. And the Hult Prize enables those
ideas to gain ground. The accumulation of all of
them together is where the real change happens.
