State Representative Kari Rehrauer supports ABE
The world of Adult Basic Education is vast, and it involves many people working together to build a community that provides a lot for adults who attend Metro North classes. In this regard, we would like to introduce some of the people behind the scenes who truly make our programs function. Metro North ABE is a partnership of eight school districts’ Community Education departments that work together to serve students in our collective districts smartly. The directors of these community education departments are instrumental in supporting ABE, and we would like you to meet some of them.
St. Francis Community Education
Chris Lindquist serves as the Director of Community Education at St. Francis Area Schools, where he has built a strong reputation for leadership, collaboration, and commitment to lifelong learning. A dedicated advocate for educational access, Chris has been a consistent supporter of Adult Basic Education( ABE) programming through his active role in the consortium. He recognizes the profound impact ABE has on learners, families, and the broader community— helping adults improve literacy, gain workforce skills, and achieve personal and professional goals. His advocacy ensures that these vital services remain available and responsive to the diverse needs of the region.
Under his leadership, the St. Francis Learning Center plays a central role in providing opportunities for learners of all ages. This fall, St. Francis will hold some ABE programming at the St. Francis Learning Center, a night class at St. Francis High School, additional ABE classes at The Early Childhood Family Center, and some online programming as well.
Within this hub of activity, ABE programs are given the resources and support they need to thrive. Chris’ s vision emphasizes that education does not stop at graduation but continues
7 across the lifespan. His dedication ensures that St. Francis Schools remain a place where community members can learn, grow, and connect, making education a cornerstone of community life
