Monsoon tourism is gaining more popularity year after year . Monsoon tourism allows tourists to explore the intrinsic beauty of Kerala with a feel of adventure . It is still something of a new experience to our foreign tourists . Kerala is a cool monsoon destination in India with water falls , river rafting , boating and other thrills . The period from June to July and October to November used to be considered off-season due to monsoons . It is unfortunate that there are no foreign charter tourist flights to Kerala during monsoon season .
Government of Kerala and the tourism department should come forward with aggressive marketing plans to promote monsoon tourism and to attract more tourists during the season . More promotion campaigns need to be organized globally focusing on rain drops , water falls and other water effects .
Tourism Department and the resorts should launch special tourism promotional schemes during monsoon season . For example , the Leela Goa reduces it ’ s room rates by nearly 80 % during the monsoon season .
The state tourism department and private players in the industry should re-schedule their campaign accordingly to promote monsoon & Ayurvedic health tourism as well .
