OBJECTIVES
To understand the theme of sustainable development, name the factors involved in global
warming, name examples from everyday life how to improve the environment and analyse
possibilities of prevention in environmental education

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Students read an article about usage of plastic bags in EU which are still given for free in
some shops.
When reading the article, students should make notes about the facts that caught their
attention.
Group work – students discuss their notes in groups and try to find a solution to a following
question: “How are you going to concretely explain the situation of plastic bags overusage to the
other school members?”
The aim of the lesson is that the students should come up with some ideas how to prevent the
situation and think about possibility of recycling and repetitive usage of plastic bags.
Students in the groups have to design their own bag which will be from recycled materials
and customers will be able to use many times.

Students wre interested, they mainly like the part where they were designing their own bag.
