Festival in
Harbin
Harbin is known as one of the cradles
of ice and snow culture in the world.
The Ice and Snow Festival is held
there from January 5th to February
5th each year since 1985. The Harbin
Festival is not just a special day for
the local population; over time, it has
grown to become an international
event made up of a wide variety of
activities, including cultural exchanges, sports, trade, tourism, and technological exchange.
During the festival you can enjoy
huge exhibitions of snow and ice
sculptures, and other activities, such
as winter swimming, ice hockey, ice
soccer, alpine skiing tournaments,
speed skating, fireworks, photograph
exhibitions, and wedding ceremonies
on ice.
This festival has become a window
to show the world of wonders that
the people create each year in Northern China.
