DDR: Tell me a little about the name Crash Midnight. Is there a story around a late night car accident?

Shaun Soho: Yeah(laughing), it's true. We were just trying to figure out what we wanted to do with this band and all we had at that point was myself, Bo, and Alex. Alex had only been in the band for two weeks at that point. Bo gives me a call in the middle of the night, I think it was four in the morning and says ”Shaun, I got this great idea”. I'm half asleep and I don't know what he's talking about and he says, ”What do you think about the name Crash Midnight?” I told him that I thought it was pretty cool, but still I'm half asleep and not processing this very well. So he says “Cool! Can you come pick me up real quick?” I'm thinking what the hell and he proceeds to tell me that the tow truck will not tow his car because it's on the rocks and leaking gas. Apparently, he had run off the road about three minutes from where we lived into construction rubble and ended up hitting a tree, which finally brought his movement to a halt. Th e tow truck came out and told Bo that he needed a crane to get his car out because the leaking gas posed a hazard. That is the story behind the band name(laughing)

DDR: You said before that Crash Midnight is inspired the music of the 70's and that whole feel. Is everyone in the band inspired the same way?

SS: What's interesting is, I got into classic rock pretty heavily in high school. I listened to Boston WZLX and that was pretty much my go to radio station. That was when people were still buying cd's and I had this huge collection that ranged from Led Zepplin to old Aerosmith. The thing for me was the older Aerosmith when they were all on drugs and going through the more difficult times. I liked the sound more then because it completely changed once you hit the 80's. That's what we wanted to base our sound off of, you know?

Rock n’ Roll is back! Born out of a late-night car wreck and formed on the streets of Boston by Shaun Soho (lead vocals), Bo (bass guitar), and Alex Donaldson (lead guitar), CRASH MIDNIGHT has burst onto the music scene with vintage guitar riffs, pounding drums, and searing vocals. A collision of classic 70s festival rock with a punk swagger, their trademark sound is packing clubs and turning heads. With their exploding following and high-energy stage show, CRASH MIDNIGHT performs with all the reckless abandon of a runaway freight train and is poised to carry the torch for a whole new generation of Rock n’ Roll.
