Skinny: Yeah, It's the right team!There are decisions to be made, pull the trigger at the right moment!
Waylon: There are going to be moments when you are gonna get your butt hurt, "Waylon you cant sing on every bit of it, Jeff has to sing too! Waylon, we have to get Jay in there!! Let's let Jay sing!" (laughing) Skinny is like "Waylon, I'm sorry, it's really good, maybe we can use it in another song, but we have to fit everybody!" Skinny makes those decisions. Yeah your butts going to get hurt about it, but you have to think about the big picture.
Skinny: Put it this way, everyone gets to argue with me, but I get to argue with everyone!
Waylon: He ain't Lyin! But honestly, I wouldn't want to be in Skinnys shoes! I mean he will have four great ideas for the same eight
bars and you can't put all those great ideas on that same piece of music, and he has to be the one to choose and he thinks "Oh my God, someones gonna get hurt".
Skinny: It is a bit of a juggling match, obvously some parts dictate what they need to be. It's
obvious who has the
better part. But the idea is to compliment and contrast...I mean like Waylon and Jeff can really harmonize together, they brought
that element to the table. And then Jmann coming back, he and Jmann passing the baton back and forth, to where it complimants and contrasts in the proper way, that is where the element is!
Waylon: Well that's good cause I can work well with everybody! (laughing)
Skinny: Yeah, Wylon is a pimp, we all know that,

Waylon: It' because I love my boss I want to be there for him! (lauhing) But honestly, Jeff and Jay are like my big brothers and honestly , they have been doing it for so long, I can even sit back and
go, "That's Badass!" And that's
the thing, a lot of vocalists are very egotistical, but I'm like..."Hold
up a minute!, You mean I get to stop and breathe?" "This is the shit!"
Skinny: Yeah you get to step back and watch. I like to watch other bands. I get to see something that I dont do. Whether I like it our not, the fact of the matter is, I would of never thought of that, I wouldn't have played that beat, so being inspired by other musicians is great. and that's what is awesome about Mushroomhead, there are so many of us to keep that cauldron just brewing!
Waylon: Trust me, one guy will do one thing and that will spur something else, and it will spur him to do something, and then that one idea that you thought was kickass turns into this new idea thats even more kick ass!
Skinny: Or its gone! (laughing) Or the whole idea or thought behind the song is not there anymore, and it's a whole other song. But when you have that many people you just can't come in and go "Alright, here is the tempo, here are the three chords and here is your part and here is your part, and dont play a different beat". Its a lot of listening though I will say, because there is only so many areas for proper voicing and instruments and after that, like I said, you better
