METAL ONSLAUGHT MAGAZINE - DECEMBER 2014 METAL ONSLAUGHT MAGAZINE | Page 22

there folks you pull in to develop it, or do you both have an idea of what you want to do?

PS: We brainstorm before every video about its aesthetics and we do our best to turn every

clip into a little journey in the universe of

Santa Hates You. The two of us always come

up with all story lines and we direct our videos

and photo-shootings by ourselves. We are

masters of our own looks and images. Thank

you for the compliment, by the way. Our videos

are low-budget and no-budget productions, but

we're really good in not making you realize this.

We are not sponsored or endorsed by any

company.

Peter do you

approach

the music

differently

with

Santa Hates

You than

you would

with

Project

Pitchfork?

Please

explain..

PS: The difference in the musical styles is definitely conscious and wanted. I don‘t like to mix things up. I love to experiment and explore new musical ways. For example, in Santa Hates You there‘s the female component which is obviously not present in Project Pitchfork. Because of the collaboration between Jinxy and me the final result is bound to sound different from my other bands. Beside having a unique voice, she also writes the biggest part of all Santa Hates You lyrics. So there’s more of a teamwork process, if you will. In Project Pitchfork, on the other hand , I do everything by myself

How did each of you get your start in music? Was there any formal training growing up? Did you all come from a musical family?

JINXY: My love for music literally started in

my cradle. When I was a baby, my mother

always played Beethoven's symphonies to get

me to sleep. Classical music was the

soundtrack of my childhood. After learning to

play the flute in elementary school, around the

age of 12 I took oboe lessons. Then I grew up

and discovered rock'n'roll in all of its crazy

facets.

PS: I learned to whistle at the age of 5, for

the rest I am a natural genius, all self-made: no

teachings, no lessons.

That's why

there are

no musical

borders for

me.

If there

was

something

else you

could do

in your life

that did

not

involve music and you would be happy doing what would that be and why?

PS: The best cook in the world and our part of the Galaxy.

JINXY: Probably I'd be a Shrink, as I studied psychology. Although on second thought, my misanthropy might get in the way ;-)

What are the future plans for Santa Hates You? Tours, Albums, Videos? Will your fans see you in the USA anytime soon?

PS: If we told you, would it still be a surprise? ;)
