esquite ISD needs the support of
the local business community to
create the culture shift we’re seeking.
We are thankful for the initiative
many businesses have already taken
to lend their support in innovative,
non-financial ways. Supporting a
culture of reading, playing and talking
with children from birth through
early childhood can be as simple as
encouraging customers, employees
or members to read, play and talk
with their children every single day.

A recent event hosted by the Mesquite Chamber
of Commerce, Taste & Trade, brought together
representatives from local businesses and community
members who had the opportunity to sample
food from local restaurants. Sponsored by Agape
Home Health and Hospice and held at the Mesquite
Exhibit Hall at Rodeo Centre, this year’s theme was
“ReadPlayTalk.”
Booths were outfitted with great food, prizes, freebies
and of course reminders to read, play and talk every
day. Some businesses
held book giveaways and
created games around
the theme. Thanks to the
Chamber for its longtime
support of MISD and
for its steady, consistent
impact on the Mesquite
community.
