THE PERILS OF WAR
THE PERILS OF WAR
I am a plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Merseyside who has been through personal experience of civil war as a child . I was displaced from my own home for the fear of abduction and a threat to life .
I have also been on charity missions , working in close proximity to areas affected by the Syrian civil war , treating those acutely injured and at a later stage , those suffering the aftermath of war .
To me , life is not about taking , it is also about giving . As human beings , we will each want to contribute in our own way to support those who are disadvantaged by the war . I feel strongly driven to offer my skills as a plastic surgeon to treat adults and children of all nationalities who have been injured by the war in Ukraine .
As an individual , I only make one cog of the wheel . In order to help others in this war , I fully recognise that like-minded people with the right skill sets will make important members of a medical team . The team will integrate with the relevant charities and the required support mechanisms to reach out to those injured whilst ensuring the safety of all members on any mission achieved .
You may ask , why am I writing this article and its relevance ? The aim of this article is to reach out to the readership and ask for your help .
