KIRKBY GALLERY PRESENTS FANTASTICAL WORK OF LOCAL ARTIST
From Monday 16 January , Kirkby Gallery presents Thomas Judge : Image a debut solo show of Kirkby artist Thomas Judge featuring more than 30 works that showcase his unique style .
On until Friday 7 April , Thomas Judge : Image displays his paintings that take inspiration from Judge ’ s life , films , nature and society . Connecting all his work is a sense of fantasy , atmospheric storytelling and a hyper-realist approach to painting .
Thomas Judge has exhibited numerous times as part of Kirkby Gallery ’ s Open Art exhibition , exhibiting and winning prizes for his work over the last 10 years . However , as this is Judge ’ s inaugural show , it will be the first opportunity for audiences to fully immerse themselves in a range of his mesmerising paintings .
Cllr Shelley Powell , Knowsley ’ s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods said : “ This is Kirkby Gallery ’ s first exhibition since our year as Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture ended . Despite our year being over it ’ s fantastic to see we are continuing to showcase the talents of local artists and giving them a platform for people to see their art . of my work for the first time , especially in my home town , and offering audiences the opportunity to wander through my imagination .”
Also on display are works painted by Judge , inspired by other artists whose work he admires , some of which are on display in The Artists ’ Studio section of the gallery and also in the foyer on the ground floor . They are not direct copies ; each is done in the style of a particular artist , combining elements of existing paintings with details from Thomas ’ s imagination to create new works .

When is it open ? Kirkby Gallery is open Monday to Friday : 10am – 5pm ( last entry at 4.30pm ), Saturdays 10am – 1pm ( last entry at 12.30pm ).
How much are tickets ? Thomas Judge : Images is free , and no booking is required .

His mesmerising , highly technical and intricate paintings have stunned staff and audiences alike , and I ’ m delighted we are presenting a solo show of his work .”
Thomas Judge said : “ My inspirations come from many sources , ranging from moments in my life , to films , nature and society . I read a lot , and I ’ m particularly interested in history . However , rather than offering a full account of my work I invite the viewer to interpret the paintings themselves . I usually paint purely for my own entertainment but I ’ m proud to be displaying an exhibition
