A & M Diggle recently had a customer with an interesting piece of pure gold that he had excavated himself in a field in Shropshire , about 4 inches below the surface . The nugget was confirmed by the British museum as ancient Roman gold . An extremely rare find , especially for this area , which only adds to the beauty and the value .
Rather than keeping the nugget as it was , the gentleman wanted to use the gold to create a bespoke wedding ring for his wife with an idea of a twisted band in mind . Once we had agreed on the design , one of our talented jewellers , Mark , completed the task and transformed the Roman nugget into a beautiful wedding ring which fitted perfectly .
The customer loved the finished product and was delighted with Marks work . A & M Diggle continues to prove that we can provide quality bespoke services , no matter how old ( or ancient ) the jewellery may be .
