Born and raised in London , with his distinctive raspy singing voice , Stewart is among the best-selling music artists of all time , having sold over 250 million records worldwide . He was knighted in the 2016 Birthday Honours for services to music and charity . In support of the release of his 31st studio album ' The Tears of Hercules ', Sir Rod Stewart will once again hit the road in 2022 with a massive UK Tour and will be performing in Liverpool in December .
