THE PRIVATE EYE
by Anthony Butlin of Trojan Investigations
This month , as well as describing a couple of pieces of work I have been involved with lately , as promised I will describe the essential equipment I use and also give you an insight into a new lie detection service I offer .
The clocks have turned and now most investigators think we are living in darkness with being up very early and out until late at night however darkness does have its benefits for me . The best advantage is that I don ’ t have to go out too late to fit vehicle trackers as I can use the cover of darkness . As soon as I ’ ve eaten my tea , I can crawl beneath someone ’ s vehicle . The downside of the winter months however is the rain . Every car I have to put a tracker underneath always seems to be parked in a huge puddle so I invariably get soaked through !
I would like to tell you about a new service I offer which is a lie detection system called Eye Detect . This analyses the eyes throughout the test and sends the information to an encrypted database , this database sends the test data through algorithms then it quickly sends an unbiased and accurate result within minutes . Eye Detect has an accuracy rating of around 90 % - 91 % according to the American Polygraph association where the standard old polygraph tests have an accuracy of 83 %.
It really is an award winning bit of technology which accurately tests for infidelity , drug users , criminal suspects , job applicants , employees and any other specific issues you want someone questioned about . Eye Detect has and is being used and trusted in UK criminal and civil courts as supplementary evidence .
I have to be honest , when we are conducting these tests , particularly with infidelity issues , providing the result can often be a slightly volatile situation . If the subject of the test has failed , I do cringe if my client is present and is understandably emotional . My method is to deliver the result within an hour of me leaving the location to prevent me being in the middle of an almighty argument ! My clients get a full report sent to them via email .
If you would like anyone testing for any reason , please get in touch . The test can be performed at any location as we bring the equipment to you . I always get asked what equipment do I take with me on deployments . In my rucksack I carry on a daily basis , I have some basic essentials with me as does any private investigator . The main thing is my video camera . I always say , if it ’ s not on camera , it never happened . You can ’ t argue with
video footage if you have been caught doing something you shouldn ’ t . I carry two video cameras simply as a main and a backup . Both have low light capabilities and are high definition . Together with the cameras , I also carry a power pack with charging leads for my mobile phone , a good amount of cash , my passport , a pair of glasses for a slight disguise , a hat , a covert camera , vehicle tracker and a listening device .
This is the standard equipment any investigator should have with them on any deployment . I have to expect the unexpected . When I ’ m following someone I could be in Tesco supermarket one minute and within half an hour eating on the next table to my subject in a high end restaurant .
My vehicle of course has other items I use in it such as a stills camera with a long-range lens , tripods and what we call ‘ suction mounts ’ that attach to any window which I can mount a camera on . I have disguises such as uniforms for a few companies which I can ’ t disclose , camouflage clothing , fans for clearing steamed up windows , waterproof boots and a main large power bank the size of a car battery . Without doubt though the most important piece of my arsenal of equipment in my car is my DAB radio . When I ’ m spending all day in the back of it , it keeps me company as the boredom on occasions can be terrible when I am willing my subject to do something at least !
So what have I been doing since the last edition of Wirral Life ? I have had at least two surveillance operations per week and a good mixture of infidelity investigations , employee absenteeism surveillance to one long running corporate job .
I have undertaken two jobs from London solicitors coincidentally too . One was to investigate the occupants of a building in Liverpool for drug use and the other was to trace / locate a male who had evaded his estranged wife for years so she couldn ’ t serve him divorce papers and was believed to be on the Wirral . Yes … he was found and given the documents although initially he thought he was receiving a small box from a parcel delivery company . Little did he know it was me . I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when he opened his box !
I will end this month ’ s editorial with just a reminder that if you , or one of your friends , associates , colleagues or family members need any help at all with anything , please get in touch CONFIDENTIALLY on 07521 351164 .
