This month also saw the opening of one of the most anticipated venues to open in Southport - The Grand ! My parents used to go here when I was younger as it was a huge casino and I ' d heard so many reports about how its been renovated and now a restaurant and different bars . I was thrilled to be invited to the opening and I certainly wasn ' t disappointed - I felt like I ’ d walked onto the set of Bugsy Malone or the Titanic - it looked absolutely fabulous - the attention to detail is out of this world , but unlike the Titanic - this is definitely not going to go under and I know it will be a fabulous addition to the town !
I ' m a bit a theatre goer , and always have been , having appeared in musicals and pantos all my life , and despite the fabulous reviews , up until last week , I had never seen Book of Mormon but I decided to give it a go at the Liverpool Empire . I can honestly say I laughed till I had tears running down my face . I would say it ’ s not for the faint hearted and the best way to describe it would be a cross between the humour of South Park with the songs from Hairspray , but once again the Empire have hit the jackpot with bringing another fabulous show to the City , I ' m virtually counting down sleeps until Blood Brothers arrives in October .
So , that ’ s been my month summed up really , I have also managed to gain another year by celebrating my birthday with a tour of the many bars in Ainsdale village which I can ’ t wait to share with you soon , and probably wasted far too many hours watching Love Island ( yes I am that sad ), and I ' ll be back next month , and as my mum always told me to say " thanks for having me "! merseylife . com 19
