What ’ s new with you ? Since being named to Meridian ’ s Top 20 Under 40 , I was elected to the Meridian City Council as Ward Three Councilman .
How have you continued your spirit of “ giving back ” and why is it important to you ? I have been deliberate in continuing to focus on my community and the citizens of Meridian in my new role as councilman by being a voice for progress and the youth . I have supported efforts which will benefit the youth of Meridian , like the proposed skate park , school bond issue , voting to allocate money to organizations , like Freedom Project , Carter Foundation , Boys and Girls Club , and others , which will impact our city and the youth .
Words of advice to someone just starting out in the work field : I would encourage those starting out in the work field to work to continue to be lifelong learners , and with everything you learn , impart that knowledge and wisdom in the life of at least one child . In doing so , we will continue to grow and evolve while developing and nurturing future generations .

What ’ s new with you ? On Jan . 24 , of this year , I began the role of CEO / Executive Director of United Way of East Mississippi .
How have you continued your spirit of “ giving back ” and why is it important to you ? Continued to volunteer and grow relationships with others who are looking to make this community better , and leading Financial Education sessions for many youth and adults to help them learn the steps to Financial Stability .
Words of advice to someone just starting out in the work field : Work hard , stay humble , and remember to always put your best foot forward . You never know who is looking or whose life may be changed by your actions .
