Who do you look to for inspiration or mentorship ? Definitely my parents . From an early age , they taught my brothers and me the meaning of hard work and being dedicated to what you do all while being kind and caring . Having a strong work ethic and a kind , compassionate mindset is something I strive to bring to everything I do .
Where did your spirit of altruism develop and why is it important to give back ? Since high school , I ’ ve had the opportunity to volunteer with a variety of organizations and I have found that when you encounter something that you truly love and are passionate about , it makes it easy to want to give of your time and yourself . For me , the ultimate goal of giving back is to help ensure that the many opportunities and experiences that I have been provided with will be available for generations to come .
What is your community ’ s greatest asset ? The people , especially those I ’ ve encountered in the Arts / Non-Profit Sectors . Having been involved with the Meridian Symphony for several years , I have had the opportunity to work with and alongside many of Meridian ’ s finest who give tirelessly of themselves to their respective organizations and the Arts Community as a whole .
What ’ s your favorite saying and why ? “ It is never too late to be what you might have been .” — George Eliot . To me , this quote provides a lot of hope and encouragement for the future . As someone who believes in being a life-long learner , it helps to show that we all have the potential to learn and grow and accomplish great things .
