Who do you look to for inspiration or mentorship ? I look up to my parents . They have used their lives to honor God and serve our community . I count on them for sound advice through whatever I encounter . They are my mentors , and my inspiration is my younger self . My 10-year-old self would think 22-year-old me is so cool !
Where did your spirit of altruism develop , and why is it important to give back ? My spirit for altruism developed as a preacher ’ s kid in church . Our family is always the first to arrive and the last to leave the church . I grew up sharing my parents with those in need , so our congregation became my family . I need to give back because I know what it feels like for someone to bless you exactly when you need it . It ’ s essential for me to give when I can , lend a helping hand , be kind to others , and always share a smile .
What ’ s your favorite saying and why ? Mathew 10:16 “ Be wise as serpents , but harmless as doves .” My mom quotes this scripture to my siblings and me . It reminds me always to be humble and never have ill intent for another human on this planet while remaining strategic , thoughtful , and deliberate .
