Who do you look to for inspiration or mentorship ? I have a few key people in my life who support me and inspire me . My wife and kids inspire me in all areas of life . My mom inspired me to become a nurse and showed me true work ethic . My coworkers , donors , and donor families inspire me professionally to push to be better in my role . My brother-in-law and friend , Neil Johnson , serves as the mentor who helps me in my personal and professional life . He serves as the sounding board and guide through life ’ s complex situations . I would not be who I am or where I am today without these people .
Where did your spirit of altruism develop and why is it important to give back ? My spirit of giving back was instilled in me as a child . My parents were both in public / civil sector professionally . My father a Meridian Police Officer and my mother a Registered Nurse . A focus on community and taking care of people was how I was raised .
What is your community ’ s greatest asset ? This community is filled with the greatest people . The people are the driving force of everything here . From the healthcare systems , to the churches , to the Navy Base , there is a family feel to our community and that is our greatest asset .
What ’ s your favorite saying and why ? I am not sure if this is classifies as a saying , but I often repeat The Serenity Prayer . I love the prayer in its entirety , but I like to break it down into sections and let a section of the prayer be of focus .
