Who do you look to for inspiration or mentorship ? I am beyond blessed , and grateful to have so many role models in my life . My father ’ s hard work and dedication , and my mother ’ s work ethic and professional attitude have inspired me since I was a child . My mother-in-law , Virginia , as well as my church family at Northcrest Baptist Church continuously inspire me and motivate me to learn more about our Father and how to live for Him .
Where did your spirit of altruism develop and why is it important to give back ? My father , Benjy Pittman was a hard working aircraft mechanic for many years , before he became disabled . During his tenure of work , I witnessed a dedicated , hard working man that never gave up on anything he wanted . His determination has helped shape me into the person I am today .
What is your community ’ s greatest asset ? Meridian ’ s greatest asset is it ’ s people ! There are so many volunteers who love our community and want to take steps to improve our city .
What ’ s your favorite saying and why ? “ There are no constraints on the human mind , no walls around the human spirit , no barriers to our progress , except those we ourselves erect . “ — Ronald Reagan . This reminds me to never stop trying to achieve more whether it be in my career , volunteering or my life at home .
