Who do you look to for inspiration or mentorship ? I look to those close to me for inspiration and mentorship . “ It takes a village ” and my family and friends and church family are my village . They are always available to offer support and guidance when I need it .
Where did your spirit of altruism develop and why is it important to give back ? I believe as a Christian that it is God ’ s call for my life to serve others , and share His love . My husband and I felt this call strongly when we became foster parents . The need there is more incredible than I can describe . It is close to our hearts , having adopted our oldest sons through the system . We plan to relicense our home in the coming years and are also looking for more ways to serve currently licensed homes and foster families .
What is your community ’ s greatest asset ? The collegiate education available in our community creates a unique advantage . Meridian Community College and MSU-Meridian allow the community to continue learning and growing , affordably . From career and technical programs all the way to graduate degrees , the educational opportunities are endless .
What ’ s your favorite saying and why ? “ Love God . Love People .” This helps me to remember the mission Christ has set for my life , and follow Him .
