The Meridian / Lauderdale Alcorn State University Alumni Chapter held its annual Purple and Gold Scholarship Gala on April 19 at the MSU Riley Center . ASU President Tracy Cook and football coach Cedric Thomas were on hand for the event . The ASU Concert Choir performed , dinner was served , and the alumni chapter presented four area students with scholarships .
