Clements Odom , General Manager and Director of Advertising
Clements Odom recently relocated from Oxford to Meridian and now serves as general manager and director of advertising for The Meridian Star and Meridian Life Magazine . A native of the Mississippi Delta , Clements grew up in Greenwood and studied communications at the University of Mississippi . After a nearly 20-year career in the hospitality industry , he transitioned to the field of media sales , working with Oxford Magazine and The Oxford Eagle . He is a co-founder of Oxford ’ s Sanctuary Arts Festival and developed the Cofield Reading Rooms at the Chancellors House Hotel in Oxford .
Glenda Sanders , Editor and Writer
Glenda Sanders is the editor of Meridian Life Magazine and a reporter for The Meridian Star . A lifelong resident of the Magnolia State , she is a graduate of the University of Mississippi , where she earned a Bachelor ’ s Degree in journalism . She has more than three decades of practice as a journalist and freelance writer for newspapers and publications in Tupelo , Meridian and McComb , as well as marketing and communications experience in the healthcare and electric utility fields .
Tom Mayer , Contributor
Tom Mayer is the general manager and editor of Carpenter Media Group ’ s Alabama group of award-winning newspapers , including The Cullman Times , The ( Athens ) News-Courier and the St . Clair News-Aegis . He began his journalism career more than two decades ago after a tour as a nuclear reactor operator in the US Navy . Shifting from science to literature , he earned a master ’ s degree in English and then took a job as a cub reporter at an Upstate NY daily . Working in communities and markets from the mountains to the coast , he has led groups of weekly and daily newspapers in New York , all regions of North Carolina , Mississippi , Florida and Alabama .
Kim Smith , Photography Contributor
Kim Smith is a lifelong resident of Mississippi . She has owned her own photography business for 16 years and specializes in portraits of all ages , weddings , special occasions , landscapes as well as videography . While her photography business is based in Mississippi , she has expanded her service area to include Alabama , Florida , Louisiana and Tennessee .
