Meridian ’ s own Miss Mississippi Holly Brand opened May ’ s ThirdThursday presentation performing “ The National Anthem . Held at Dumont Plaza in downtown Meridian , featured a Bluegrass theme and featured artist Rebekah Speer . Sponsored by Meridian Council for the Arts , the free community event features live music as well as food vendors . It is held each third Thursday , starting in April and concluding in early fall .
