Snapshots from the Downtown History Walk

Presenters with the Rose Hill Company of Storytellers brought the history of notable Meridianites alive for attendees of the second ever Downtown History Walk held in late February .
Crowds of people began the self-guided walk at Dumont Plaza and followed a loop that ran to City Hall and then back to the Courthouse square , stopping to listen to the storytellers who were scattered throughout the route .
From stories about early Romani travelers , more commonly known as gypsies , to a local Buffalo soldier to the impact turn-of-the-century Jewish merchants had on the city ’ s development , audiences were captivated by the stories from the presenters .
