A helping hand for those in need . A heart for community and country . This Men ’ s Edition of Meridian Home and Style Magazine recognizes several local men who are dedicated to serving the community and country :

• Alex Dorais , NAS Meridian
• Howard Elkins , Metro Ambulance
• Keith Moody , Meridian Police Department
• Ruston Russell , Lauderdale County Sherriff Department While their service is through occupations that help those in need ( law enforcement , fire safety and emergency medical assistance ), these men are engaged in their work as well as committed to those they serve — beyond the workplace . Several volunteer with community service agencies and programs , as well as participate in community projects , organizations and causes .
Their spirit of altruism may be attributed to a variety a reasons : inspiration from their parents , a desire to be connected to their community , “ paying it forward ” or dedication to making an impact on the lives of others .
Whatever their reasons for serving the community , we applaud them for their committment .
