Tips for Clean Eating

With clean eating , the idea is to consume foods that are as close to their natural state as possible . Following are several ways to begin the journey toward starting a clean , healthy diet :
• Eat more fruits and vegetables .
• Always read labels on food to make sure there are no preservatives , added sugars , unhealthy fats or high amounts of sodium . Be aware of portion and serving sizes and total calories .
• Completely eliminate refined carbs and added sugars from your diet .
• Limit processed foods and cut out packaged snack foods .
• Avoid using vegetable oils and spreads
• Limit alcohol consumption .
• Drink lots of water .
• Substitute vegetables for pasta or refined grains in a recipe .

“ We craft a lot of our seasonings like our chili , fajita and taco seasonings in house ,” she said . “ We stay away from high sodium . We do not use anything with MSG . It is all clean herbs and spices .”
