The Dress

And the bride wore …

The bride ’ s walk down the aisle is the most anticipated moment of a wedding ceremony . While members of the bridal party ( bridesmaids and groomsmen , mothers of the bride and the groom , and last , but not least , the flower girl and ringbearer ) set the tone of the wedding ceremony , the bride is the main attraction — as well as her gown .
When young girls ( and brides-to-be ) envision their wedding , finding the dress of their dreams is often first on the list of preparations for the big day . Traditions and tastes may vary , but a bridal outfit to present the bride in the best light for a momentous life occasion is the ultimate goal .
Historically , the wedding dress came to represent the end of a woman ’ s identity as an individual and the start of being a dependent wife . Today , it signifies the end of single life and the start of new commitment and partnership . Additionally , the wedding gown is a special representation of a memorable day . From mermaid to trumpet , A-line to tea-length , Boho to elegant , the dress remains a key part of making a wedding the important milestone that it is .
