WEDDING BAND TRENDS

Beyond a band of gold — or silver

As with wedding gowns and ceremonies , today ’ s bride ’ s are foregoing tradition with wedding bands . “ Wedding bands have certainly changed in the past five years .

At one time , it was a struggle to find a perfect match for a customer who already had a wedding band but wanted to add another one ,” said Bobbie Kay Waddell , owner of Bobby Kay Jewelers in Philadelphia .
“ Now we are selling bands that complement engagement rings , but do not necessarily match . With a new band you can change the look of your existing ring easily and without a lot of expense . Band styles vary from colored stones that represent the birth months to diamond bands that vary in style ,” Waddell said . Wedding bands also have become popular as add-ons to a current wedding set . “ Purchasing a second band to stack at the front of the wedding set has become a very popular trend ,” Waddell said .
