There are a number of other trends in wedding dresses . Right now , she said she gets a lot of requests for gowns with long sleeves . That is because brides with tattoos want to cover their ink on their big day .
She also is seeing a lot of requests for embellishments , including rhinestones sequins , and other types of sparkle . Ivory colored dresses also are popular right now , she said .
“ A very white , white dress doesn ’ t look good on everyone ,” Weems said . “ I am happy to see other options .”
Weems said she is happy to work with brides with a variety of dress budgets . She said she has had brides pay a few hundred to a few thousand dollars for a dress .
“ I feel strongly about trying to help a bride stay within the budget that they have ,” she said . “ We talk about those things up front and I am not going to pressure someone to buy something that is more expensive than what they want to spend . Part of being happy with a dress can be being happy with the price .”
Weems said her goal is to help every bride find the perfect dress . Sometimes , she said , engaged women come in and try on dresses , leave the store empty-handed , but then come back weeks later looking for a dress they saw before .
“ People do need to look – need to consider options ,” she said . “ You aren ’ t going to buy the first dress you try on . And plenty of people come back and find what they are looking for . But you also need to know that if you leave the store without the dress , there ’ s a good chance that someone else might come in and get it before you make it back .” M
