Bringing Experience to the Table

An Howard Hill relishes sharing her passion for cooking and the science behind it . “ Teaching and sharing my knowledge with the future generations of chefs is both fun and rewarding ,” Hill said .
Hill returned to the Meridian Community College classroom and culinary kitchen after serving three years as director of clubhouse operations with Northwood Country Club and two years as owner of an event planning and design business , Uptown Event Co .
Today , she is the program coordinator and instructor of the Culinary Arts Technology Program . “ I worked at MCC for two years before taking a position with Northwood Country Club ,” Hill noted . Hill is a graduate of Mississippi University for Women , earning a bachelor of science degree in culinary arts with an emphasis in nutrition . Her first in-thefield job after graduation was as a chef at Commander ’ s Palace in New Orleans .

While at the legendary restaurant she trained under James Beard Award winning chef , Tory McPhail . She also brings to the table15 years of vast culinary experience along with 10 years of experience in hospitality management . So , the passion to pass on the love of cooking is always at the forefront for Hill . “ The culinary world is a never-ending education ,” Hill said . In her personal time , Hill enjoys teaching yoga , traveling and spending time outdoors with her son , Bond , and husband , Jace .
