Dressing Ingredients :
• 1 ⁄ 2 cup butter ( 1 stick )
• 2 cups white onions , chopped
• 1 1 ⁄ 2 cups celery , chopped
• 1 1 ⁄ 2 tablespoons seasoning of choice
• 2 eggs
• 1 1 ⁄ 4 teaspoon sage , chopped
• 1 1 ⁄ 4 teaspoon rosemary , chopped
• 3 turkey drumsticks , cooked and shredded
• 5 cups chicken stock
• 2 tablespoons pepper
Directions :
1 . Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit . 2 . Place cornbread in a large bowl and crumble cornbread into small pieces . 3 . Melt butter in a large skillet ; add the onions , celery and seasonings of choice . Sauté until the vegetables are soft .
4 . Add the sautéed vegetables to the cornbread mixture and combine . Beat eggs and add to the cornbread mixture . Then fold in shredded turkey drumsticks , herbs and seasonings to the cornbread mixture .
5 . Add 4 cups of the chicken stock , and then combine using your hands to get a very lumpy and thick consistency . You may add more chicken stock if mixture is too dry . Mixture should be very well combined and pourable .
6 . Butter a baking dish . Pour mixture into prepared dish and bake until dressing has puffed up and well browned around the edges ( Approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour ).
