The Perfect Fit

for Your Perfect Day

by: Hannah Webber | Compassion Fashion

DO

Elongate. A column-like sheath with an unbroken line or an A - line dress will create the illusion of height. Find a style with a waistline above that of your natural waistline to elongate your lower half,

making your appear taller.

DON'T

Most silhouettes will flatter a petite figure. Too much volume in a gown may be overwhelming on a petite frame. Avoid drop - waist silhouettes and calf - length styles, which may make your legs appear shorter.

DO

Keep it simple. Taller women can pull off most any style, as long as there are not too many details or embellishments drawing attention to the height. A lower waistline, a floor-sweeping hem, and even a longer veil are all great options for taller women. A simple silhouette that accentuates the natural shape of your body tends to be a chic look for taller women.

DON'T

Avoid a dress with a high neckline, as it draws the eyes upwards, elongating the body even more. Too many details or embellishments can look busy on a taller woman. Also, consider wearing your hair down rather than in an updo that adds more height.
