confidence, but the more you do it, the more confident you get.

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE LAUNCH OF YOUR NEW PAINT LINE! IF ONE SHADE SCREAMED 'ABIGAIL!' WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE?

Thank you! Hudson Black and Madison Grey. Am I allowed two? Hudson for obvious reasons as it's as dark as you can go, but also because the paint is mostly made from natural pigments so it has undertones of brown and feels like the softest black on earth. Madison Grey because of its undertones and depth. In some lights it's grey, in others it's green. It changes with the light so beautifully.

WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE TO LAUNCH A PAINT LINE?

Quite a long time developing - a year all told. I was hugely influenced with this collection by my time spent living in the States. I raided my mother's art box (she is an artist) and mixed pigments together to get the colours I wanted. It took a long time tweaking but I couldn't be happier with the results!

ON THE RELEASE OF YOUR PAINT LINE YOU SAID YOU'D BECOME A LITTLE OBSESSED - WHAT ELEMENTS MAKE PAINT SO ENTICING?

Paint is the most transformative and cheapest thing you can do EVER. Painting a wall out in a hue changes the vibe of the room completely. There is nothing else that can do that. So in just an afternoon, you can decide to paint a room out or a wall out in a hue that will elevate and take your space to a whole other level. Amazing, no?

WHEN YOU AREN'T WORKING ON THE RELEASE OF THE NEXT ABIGAIL AHERN PRODUCT WHERE DO YOU GO TO UNWIND?

"I TOTALLY AND UTTERLY IGNORE TRENDS...I FOLLOW MY INSTINCT AND ONLY MY INSTINCT. IT TAKES CONFIDENCE BUT THE MORE YOU DO IT, THE MORE CONFIDENT YOU GET."
