The most difficult thing about delivering veg boxes at this time of year must be
keeping all that fresh summer veg from falling out, there’s such an abundance of it. Gill
and Gareth Rossiter must know the dangers of rogue new potatoes better than most, as
they deliver award-winning Riverford organic veg boxes to doorsteps across Dorset.
It’s not just the quality and great taste of the produce they deliver that counts, though.
“Riverford’s ethics are important to us”, they explain. “Company founder Guy Watson
blazed the trail for organic veg boxes and continues to do so. Our veg boxes were
awarded ‘Ethical Product of the Decade’ at the recent Observer Ethical Awards – a wonderful recognition that great value and
taste can still be achieved when treating produce, farmers and the environment with respect and fairness. Our customers
appreciate that we know the provenance of everything we sell and can still provide exceptional quality and value for money.”
Based in Cheselbourne, the pair are also passionate about Dorset’s organic producers; several already supply Riverford but
the couple are actively championing more, aiming for the best produce being sold more widely through the Riverford network.
