A ‘churro’ is effectively a Spanish doughnut and
is fried and then dipped in hot chocolate or café con
leche. I grew up in Spain and as a child this was a
favourite of mine and now my children love it too!
We’ve added this Spanish treat to our menu at The
Dining Room and have now extended our tapas
menu to the evening, my sister and I are really proud
to cook authentic Spanish food and love that it’s so
popular here in the UK.

The Ha rbou r, Weymouth
There are many old fixtures on a harbourside that’s been in operation since the 1300s but don’t expect to find
any rustiness in this acclaimed, cosy eatery that’s been a feature here for 25 years. Its doors have remained
open since 1990 by staying true to owners Steve and Janice Gosson’s aim, which is serving “simply good
food.” This means great local ingredients are treated with respect by Chef Steve rather than subjected to any
slavishly followed trends. That’s not to say eating at Mallams is a stuffy experience though with friendly
service and relaxed dining to go with that stunning view over the historic harbour. Look out on the boats
bobbing on the tide, often with a fresh catch for the restaurant, as the sun sets and the lights twinkle in the
water and the only thing that could undercut the romance is a slightly smug satisfaction that you
managed to book a table by the window.
Try the…Fillets of lemon sole stuffed with smoked salmon mousse, set on a reduction of cream, wine, lemon grass and coriander
with braised little gem lettuce and petits pois. £19.95. Starters from £6.95, Mains from £16.50, Desserts from £6.95.
