The article says that recent studies have shown than men under the age of 45 in the UK are more likely to commit suicide, the culture of toxic masculinity of nowadays society imposed some kind of rules of available models about how men should behave in which they have to be unemotional, strong, sexual dominant and violent. These thoughts are a clearly harmful position for women, LGBT community and deeply damaging for man itself. Many models of toxic masculinity that rules the 21st century are brought from the Victorian period. Moreover, at the end of the 19th century, the ideals of masculinity created a path of dangerous expectations of men’s attitudes that still prevail in today’s society.

Besides, the author mentions, that in general terms masculinity should be taken as an ideology of spirituality and seriousness in the period of 1835 and 1870. But these belief changed the model of men of strengths and indifference. Furthermore, a body full of strengths were the most important aspects of the Victorian masculinity which leads that long time after these unrealistic expectations on the masculine body created the model of the popular superhero of this generation.
