Effects of the “What is Beautiful is Good” Stereotype on Perceived Trustworthiness.

The article starts stating that the physical attractiveness have and important role in nowadays society. This in situations such us, selecting a new romantic partner choices, hiring people for a company, and voting behavior. It also mentions the stereotype “What is beautiful is good” and it states that attractive people are favored in many aspects by the society. People usually gives positive characteristics to individuals that are attractive while gibe the bad characteristics to people that is not physically attractive and these is because of people’s perception on what is beautiful. The article also mentions that sometimes attractive people are given negative characteristics, but for the unattractiveness there are not much positive characteristics.

Moreover, there is a study done by the writers in which they made a survey to more than 300 participants in which both genders participated, the survey was to see what is the perception if people is trustworthy depending if they are attractive or unattractive in young people. In which people that were attractive were seen as more trustworthy that the unattractive people. These supporting the stereotype “what is beautiful is good”.
