Day 5
In the fifth day of the project, the participants were involved in a creative
activity about artistic photography. They had to realize group photo using
different photography techniques with the help of specialists. For this
workshop participants had to work in a darkroom with a self-made camera.
A darkroom is a workshop used by photographers working with photographic
film to make prints and carry out other associated tasks. It is a room that can
be made completely dark to allow the processing of the light sensitive
photographic materials, including film and photographic paper. Various
equipment is used in the darkroom, including an enlarger, baths containing
chemicals, and running water.
The participant had the opportunity to go back in the past and experience the
process of how photos were made a long time ago, they understood how
precious and complex and single photo was at the time unlike today when
anybody can take thousands of photos very easily. They had the opportunity
to create their own cameras using shoeboxes. This session was facilitated by
a local photography expert Michela.
