FIVE KEY STORYLINES
1 STANDINGS TALL: The Sabres are the final NACC unbeaten as they open conference
play 4-0 for the first time since 2007-08 season when they won their first five league contests.
2 SERIES NOTES: Marian trails the all-time series against Edgewood, 32-21, but the
Sabres have won the last three meetings. Marian and CUC are deadlocked in 16 meetings.
3 CONTROLLING THE GLASS: The Sabres are 5-0 this season when outrebounding
their opponents. In the five wins, Marian holds a combined +67 rebounding margin, including
a +6.1 rebounds per game average, which ranks atop the NACC.
4 NEARING THE 1,000-POINT CLUB: Senior Cody Veleke (1,022) eclipsed the
milestone at Wis. Lutheran back on Dec. 5, while Jeff Harris (988) is very near to doing the
same. Senior Sam Koslowski is also within reach, needing just 193 points to reach 1,000.
5 A LOOK AHEAD: Marian hits the road in a pivotal early season match-up against NACC
preseason favorite, Aurora, Friday, Dec. 20. Following more than a two-week break, the Sabres
return to the Sadoff for games against Benedictine (Jan. 4) and Rockford (Jan. 11).
