At Last....Senior Year

Senior year has been extremely busy but one of the best times of my life because of all of the special memories. I started off the year making Region Choir which is a big deal especially in our area because it is extremely competitive. Also in choir we had the opportunity this year to sing at both retirement homes and elementary schools for Holiday tour and we added an extra concert that included the band, choir, and orchestra. I have absolutely loved my English class this year it really does feel like home because I love all of the people and the fun and challenges that we have experienced. One of my favorite memories from this year was being able to run a half marathon with Kate Pingree and some other ladies from my church. My goal was to run the entire thing and I did it on March 2nd. It was a great triumph and I proved to myself that I could do it. We went on a wonderful trip to Dallas for choir and we won all of the trophies that were possible to win at the competition there. Since it is senior year I forced myself to ride all of the big roller coasters even though I am terrified of heights, and I loved it!!! Senior year is all about trying things I would not have previously done. It’s not anything big but for example I participated in the pi day pie eating contest this year and got filling all over my face, it was super fun but I wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t my last opportunity. I also had the opportunity to go to Waco for Academic UIL regionals. Before our tests we went geocaching on campus. I went to homecoming for the second time, but the first time with a date, it was great fun and I enjoyed dancing with my best friends, even if not that many seniors attended. I am very excited because for pop show this year I get to do a duet with my best friend Emily. The thing that I will miss the most is the people. Most of my best friends are staying in Texas while I am going to Utah, there is always Skype but it is not the same. I will not miss the Texas heat, I’m honestly glad to be getting away. The things from high school I will not miss are the regimented schedules, like during testing weeks, because I feel that it is a waste of precious time. I also will not miss pointless worksheets and projects. I will greatly miss some of the amazing teachers that I have had and of course the choir program.
