chronologically lists how a developing child learns from their environment. Whether it be from the music that’s blasting from every car in the summer heat to the television shows that “dominate” our screens after a long day at work, it is evident that this new idea of relationship promotes cheating and demonstrates a fundamental lack of respect for the individual with whom one shares a relationship. If we are to debunk this overt display of disregard for ones emotions, then we must challenge the negative and misogynistic message that permeates pop culture. However, I doubt that this multimillion dollar industry will restructure its platform as millennials continue to support and perpetuate the message in the art. It therefore becomes the responsibility of the listener to behave in a manner that is constrained and morally acceptable. It is my hope that with this sense of responsibility, comes a regard for the true meaning of relationship. And with this new found understanding, ties between two people will not be easily broken and the fragility of millennial relationships will solely be a passing phase.
