PLACES OF INTEREST
Annadale Waterfall
As you head towards the island’s interior from
the capital of St. George, a sure stop would be
at the Annandale Waterfall. Surrounded by lush
tropical foliage, it plunges 10 meters down into
a refreshing pool, enjoyed by both locals and
tourists. For the daredevils, jumping from the
top of the waterfall into the pool below is quite
the thrill, and many will be observed on any day,
participating in this exciting sport.
Grand Etang National Park
Continuing along the route from Annadale
Waterfall on winding roads at the center of the
island, the verdant Grand Etang National Park
and Forest Reserve sits at Grenada’s highest
point - an impressive 1910 feet above sea level.
Located in the parish of St. Andrews, there are
many reasons to make this a planned stop. Pop
into the Visitor’s Centre for maps and brochures.
Grand Etang’s wildlife, exotic flora, spectacular
views from Mt. Qua Qua and the famous crater
lake can keep you occupied for many hours
and a hike through the lush rainforest can be
an invigourating adventure undertaken with or
without a guide. Before you leave Grand Etang,
head back to the Visitor Center for a refreshing
drink, snack and souvenir.
