Martello
Tower
Located on Barbuda’s south coast about
seven miles from Codrington Village,
the ruins of Martello Tower is another
reminder of the island’s colonial history.
Constructed in the early 1800’s, the tower
stands 56 feet tall and was used then as
a strategic defence base and also a lookout
for ships wrecked at sea.
Today, it is a popular location with
couples taking photos on their wedding
day.
