BEST DESSERT
In the world there are many different desserts that everybody loves, but there is one specific dessert that is very famous, Baklava. It’s rich, sweet pastry made of layers of filo filled with chopped nuts and sweetened and held together with syrup or honey. You can make it however you want, but I am going to show you how to make a delicious recipe, and also the history of this dessert and different variations.
The history of Baklava is different for a lot of countries. We don’t know exactly where it comes but some people think that it comes from different countries. This dessert is similar to many desserts like the Roman Placenta cake, Central Asian Turkic and Persian lauzinaq. These cakes are similar because both of them has dough layers flavored with honey. The recipe of the Placenta of Roman is exactly the same as the Baklava.
To prepare Baklava is not too difficult. This desert is prepared in large pans. It has a lot of layers of filo dough. In the pan you add butter and vegetable oil. After doing that you add a layer of nuts, walnuts or pistachio, but you save some to put it on top of the dessert. Before baking you set the oven in 180’C, 356'F for 30 minutes. After the dessert is done you cut it in regular pieces like triangles, diamonds or rectangles. The final step is to add syrup like honey, rose water, or orange flower water and allow it to soak in.
In the world the Baklava is made in different ways. In Turkey Baklava is made with layers filled with pistachios, walnuts, almonds or a special preparation called Kaywak. In Greece the Baklava is made with 33 layers of dough referring to the years of Christ's life. In the southeast of Turkey is famous because of its pistachio Baklava. In Azebaijan is made with Almonds and Walnuts. It is cut in a Rhombus shape and it's served in Spring Holiday. Many countries have their own way to prepare the Baklava
The Baklava does not have a clear origin, but the only thing we know is that is a delicious dessert prepared in a different countries with their own way to make it.
